Two weeks after the start of World War II, Hitler's top spies and managers of Nazi Germany finances approved a bold plot to destroy England. They would counterfeir millions and millions of British pounds, then scatter them over the United Kingdom, and destabilize rgw British economy.
They concluded that a man named Salomon Smolianoff would be perfect for the job. He had a criminal record and was an expert at counterfeiting. He was so good, he once forged money in his jail cell using an engraving plate he had secreted in the sole of his shoe. Trouble is, he was a Jew and being held in a concentration camp. Smolianhoff and the prisoners working with him realized that if they succeeded for the Nazis, they probably could win the war, and that they would be killed after they completed the work. This is the story of the effort, and how and why it failed.
