A reprint of the American 'Statue of Liberty' Observation Squadron in WW 1. Written by the unit's chief observer, it chronicles the units history from formation at Rockwell Field, San Diego in August 1917. It began operations in September 1918 from Toul, France. It was the first unit to fly the American built DH-4, and flew over 1,000 sorties and shot down 8 enemy a/c.
