Northrop F-89 Scorpion

Retail Price: $24.50

By: Gerald Balzer and Mike Dario

The Northrop F-89 Scorpion was an early American jet-powered fighter designed from the outset as an all-weather interceptor.

Though its straight wings limited its performance, it was among the first USAF jet fighters with guided missiles, and notably the first combat aircraft armed with air-to-air nuclear weapons.

Aerofax’s Datagraph format is one of four aircraft monographic history series produced to meet the needs of the discriminating aviation enthusiast. Datagraphs have been created to accommodate aircraft histories and related subject areas that either are too large for the smaller extra and minigraph series or too small for the larger, definitive Aerograph series.

72 pgs, softbound, 8.5 x 11, B&W and color photographs.
