After the attack by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, the West Coast realized it was vulnerable to land invasion and bombing attacks. Although there was a great dal of preparation prior to Pearl Harbor, the realization that the threat was now very real created changes in the lives of most everyone. Recording the impact of those events on the people of the West Coast is the purpose of this book. The scope of this book is limited to the three states comprising the continental western boundary of the United States.
