German Aces of World War I, The Pictorial Record Many air aces of Imperial Germany’s Luftstreitkräfte are well known, but the same cannot be said for all of the over 300 German airmen who achieved five or more aerial victories. Their stories have often been published, but never have as many photos of the aces been assembled within one book. |

Of necessity these photos vary widely in style, format and quality, yet they serve to reveal a good deal of information about the pilots and the different uniforms and decorations they wore. Included in German Aces of World War I are photos of the airplanes in which these pilots attained their fame. Aces are listed in ‘score’ order, starting with the ‘Red Baron’ himself with eighty victories, and proceeding down the list. Each photo is accompanied brief service history and victory total of the ace. |
German Aces of World War I book: 192 pgs, hardbound w/dust jacket, 11 x 8.5, 330+ photos. Top edges of cover have some slight bends and cover is not shiny new looking. never been read |
