The whole subject of medicine during the Civil War has enjoyed enormous growth. The medical re-enactment community has attracted many recruits, and has does a fine job of educating the public in the medical practices of the period. This is due in part to the Society of Civil War Surgeons. This, the second volume in the three book series, continues the presentation and identification of Civil War era medical instruments.
