Each featured aircraft includes a pilot perspective on what it was like to fly these legendary aircraft on combat or reconnaissance missions written by well-known pilots -- many of them combat veterans from the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Among the 39 featured aircraft are the United Kingdom’s Gloster Meteor, Hawker Hunter and Supermarine Scimitar; America’s Douglas Skyraider, McDonnell F-4 Phantom and Lockheed SR-71 Blackbirds; France’s Dassault Mystere; Sweden’s Saabs; Canada’s Avro CF-100; and Russia’s Mikoyan MiGs. Included are the Mikoyan MiG-15 Soviet fighter flown by Kenneth Rowe (formally Lt. Kim Sok No), the first pilot to defect to the West just after the Korean War, and the Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star jet fighter that shot down a MiG-15 in the world’s first all-jet battle.
